Bold Birthday

This bold birthday card was made as an inspiration card for Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #497 that required a large sentiment and/or the use of our sketch. I chose to do both!

Stampin' Up! (SU) makes a fun birthday themed Designer Series Paper (DSP) that has celebratory balloons on it, so I chose colors from that paper to create the color palette of the card. One of my favorite colors is teal/aqua, so chose to start with this color for the die cut sentiment as the focal point for the card.

I'll admit this card is much "louder" than my typical creations, but birthdays deserve a blast of color!!! Because of the bright colors, I wanted to add more umph to the sentiment, so die cut it three times from the SU Bermuda Bay color, then glued and stacked them together so they would cast a shadow and add depth to the card.

I'm rating the difficulty as a "1" since the sketch and papers make it easy to pull together.
