Little Girl Christmas Elf

Welcome to our "Christmas in July" challenge over at Double Trouble Paper Crafting Challenge #62! This card was made for a three-part challenge that required a Christmas theme, use of an elf or gnome, and partnering with Heart2Heart Challenges" that requires that you feature your favorite card making tool.

I don't own any elf or gnome stamps, so had to resort to the Internet where I found this cute little girl elf at clipartkey.com  I colored her with Copic markers, then using one of my favorite tools, my Brother ScanNCut, to cut her out. I then mounted her with adhesive foam strips on a red circle I had die cut using the Stampin' Up! (SU) Stitched Shapes Framelits dies.

Here's a photo of the CM350 ScanNCut that use almost every day for cards or making vinyl projects. Thanks, Heart2Heart for giving me an opportunity to feature it!!!

The card uses a Triangle Gate-Fold technique. There's a great video tutorial for making these at Jennifer McQuire's web site: https://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2...giveaways.html

I used white cardstock for my card base, a retired SU green Christmas designer series paper (DSP) for the green snowflake front to the card, matching solid green triangles for the gatefold, and a strip of white cardstock for the belly band that I stamped in green using a retired 1998 SU snowflake stamp set.

After removing the belly-band, the card opens up like a regular card with plenty of room inside to write your holiday greeting.

I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" because of all the steps it requires. None of the steps are hard at all if you follow Jennifer's tutorial.
