Welcome to another sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday! I made this inspiration card for Challenge #458 with the option challenge of including texture.
I made it for a friend who is recovering from surgery. I thought the cute little ladybug would cheer her up. The ladybugs are colored with Stampin' Write Markers.
This card is special because if you pull on the ribbon, the tag flips open to reveal another ladybug with get well wishes. The card then opens like a standard card for you to write a personal note. You can find a great video tutorial for creating this type of card on Beth Rush's blog. Here's a photo with the front flap opened when the ribbon is pulled.
I used the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Scalloped Tag Topper" punch to create both the tag on the front, and the one underneath that shows when you pull on the ribbon. I only have the one sized tag punch, so to create the larger black mat for the white tag I scanned the tag using my ScanNCut, then added a 0.12" border around the outside of the tag, and cut it out of black cardstock. The top tag needs to be larger to hide the tag underneath when the mechanism is closed.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". The flip-flap mechanism is super simple - especially if you follow along with Beth on her tutorial.
