Hello, Spring!

This card was made for a friend, and was inspired by three different card challenges:

Sunday Stamps #226 which provided the sketch:

Color My Heart Color Dare #385 photo inspiration for colors (didn't have to be St. Patrick's):

Paper Players #482 which required a "clean & simple" card with some type of flowers:

Since Spring visits us officially on March 19th this year, it seemed a perfect time to send a card. Did you know that this is the earliest Spring Equinox in 124 years?!?!?!?

I used Stampin' Up! (SU) stamp set "Circle of Spring" for both the wreath and sentiment. They were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then the wreath was hand colored using eight different SU Stampin' Write markers. The wreath was die cut using SU's matching dies "Wonderful Wreath".

The sentiment was die cut using SU "Stitched Shapes" die set. It's SU Wild Wasabi mat was cut with the next larger die in the set.

The pink strip required by the PP482 challenge was embossed using the single strip die from the SU Stitched Nested Labels Die set, then trimmed to a single strip using a paper trimmer.

Tombow glue was used to adhere all card elements. I die cut a craft foam wreath to glue on the back of the wreath to raise it up for added dimension to the card. Likewise, the sentiment element was backed with craft foam.

I think I achieved all parts of all three challenges with a simple, yet pretty spring card. I am rating the difficulty level of the card as a "2" out of a possible "5" because of the need to hand color the wreath itself.

I'm sure my friend will enjoy receiving this "springy" card!
