There Are Not Enough Words!

This Valentine's Day card for my 2-year old Grand-daughter was inspired by four different challenges:

Double Trouble #49 "Again & Again" which required the use of some elements multiple times (hence the hearts), and include critters (my two giraffes).
Double Trouble #49 "Again & Again " Repeat one Item in Project - CLOSES Sunday Feb15th
- and -

Time Out Challenges #154 which required that your card include the theme "affectionate". What could be more affectionate that two giraffes intertwining their necks speaking of love?

Since the card is for a 2-year old, I wanted it to be appreciated without the need for words. She loves giraffes, so I pulled out a retired Stampin' Up! (SU) set that had never seen ink - "Zoo Babies".

The set only has one giraffe, but I needed two! So I stamped the first onto white cardstock using SU Peekaboo Peach ink, then stamped it again on the back of a large photo-polymer flower stamp, and then pressed the inked image onto white cardstock as well. It gave a lighter shade of orange, but that's OK since not all giraffes are the same color, and for a 2-year old it could mean one was a boy giraffe and one was a girl!

I used paper snips to cut out the giraffes, then clipped their manes in several places to make them more 3D. I used a fine-tip Sharpie marker to give the boy giraffe an eyebrow, and the girl giraffe eyelashes.

The word bubbles were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink using SU Project Life "Point & Click" retired stamps.

I then raided my stash and found all the various sizes and shapes of hearts I could. I glued them inside the bubbles to show how many ways there are to say "I Love You".

The giraffes were attached to the card front using adhesive foam tape to raise them up off the card surface for added dimension.

The card front is SU Blushing Bride, it's matted with SU Real Red, and the card base is SU Calypso Coral cardstock.

The card was easy to make. The only "tough" part was fussy cutting out the giraffes, then fitting little pieces of foam tape behind them. For this reason, I am rating the difficulty level as a "2" out of a possible "5".
