Stacked UP & Ready To Celebrate

This birthday card was inspired by two card challenges:

   - and -

Whose challenge is in three parts:
Thing 1: Make a tall and skinny card.
Thing 2: Use the TSOT #445 sketch.
Twisted Sister: Stack something in your design.

Since my card is a Try Stampin' on Tuesday Design Team card, I used the TSOT sketch.  I adjusted the sketch to be a 4-1/4"x 8-1/4" tall and skinny card. And for the stacked part of the challenge, I stamped presents in various colors and added bows to them for the vertical element of the sketch.

I envision this as a card for one of my grand-daughters, so since they are all animal lovers, I stamped and die cut the lion from the new Stampin' Up! (SU) "Bonanza Buddies" bundle of stamps and dies.  To make the lion really stand out, I first stamped, diecut and assembled him, then using the same dies I cut out his body and head from yellow craft foam and glued it to the back. This way, he stands out as a 3D element.

The white circle was cut with SU "Stitched Shapes" dies, and the SU Bermuda Bay cardstock matting was cut with Spellbinders "Classic Scalloped Circles" dies.

The scallop at the bottom of the purple panel was cut with SU "Adorning Accents Edgelits" dies.

I used a SU Stamparatus stamp positioner to align the presents atop one another, and to stamp the lion's facial features.

I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "2" simply because of the time and care it takes to make the stack of presents, and create the lion.
