This card was made for Always Fun Challenges #94, whose theme was "anniversaries or weddings".
The card base is made with retired Stampin' Up! (SU) Groovy Guava cardstock. The main panel is SU Whisper White cardstock that has been dry embossed with an SU "Lace" Dynamic Embossing Folder. Dynamic folders create very deep impressions, so be sure and spritz your cardstock first before running it through your embossing machine. Before I glued the embossed panel to the card base using Tombow, I used a craft sponge to sponge the edges with SU Groovy Guava ink.
The butterflies were stamped using the SU "Papillon Potpurri" stamp set. The yellow one was made with SU Groovy Guava ink on SU So Saffron cardstock. The green one was made with SU Mint Macaron ink on SU Soft Sea Foam cardstock. The smaller butterfly was made with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on SU Groovy Guava cardstock. Their were punched out with their matching punches (SU Elegant Butterfly, and SU Itty Bitty Butterfly).
The butterfly antennae were created with a short piece of thin black craft wire, and attached to the back of each butterfly with a Mini Glue Dot. A second dot was added to the lower body of each butterfly to attach it to the card front.
The sentiment is from a retired 1992 SU stamp set called "Great Greetings". It was stamped onto a scrap piece of SU Whisper White cardstock, then die cut using the SU Layering Ovals Framelits Die. A lacy mat was cut using a digital cutter from an SVG file. It was attached to the card front also using Tombow.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card a "2" out of a possible "5". Especially if you use a more simple die to create the matting. Since the background embossing was lacy, I felt that a lacy mat was most appropriate.
