This card was made for Try Stampin' on Tuesday Tic Tac Tuesday Challenge #2:  in which I chose the bottom horizontal line: purple - scallops - dots.

I was shopping for embroidery thread at Michaels, and of course had to walk through the clearance section where I found a Flip-it card die for $9 (regularly $29!). Of course I had to bring it home and try it out!!!

The card base was die cut from Michaels' Recollections darkest purple from their Purple Ombre collection using a full 8-1/2" width of cardstock, with the right end slipped through and OVER the Flip-it die, so that I would have an extra panel to fold under the large arabesque medallion element.

The die set was so tempting because not only does it have various sizes of arabesque shapes, but also has dies that cut out the pattern paper for the flip panels!!! I had bought a multi-color arabesque pattern paper pack from Michaels called "Lattice Cardstock Paper) a couple years ago, and I thought it would go well with the front panel die. It was glued to the front panel with Tombow liquid glue. This pattern was chosen to meet the "scallops" part of the Tic Tac Tuesday challenge.

I used the largest arabesque medallion die to cut a medium purple shape for the "flip-it" element of the card base. I then stamped the birthday sentiment from Stampin' Up!'s "Petite Pairs" birthday sentiment onto SU Whisper White cardstock. I cut this out using the same large die as the medallion so that it would fit exactly inside the "hole" of the medallion.

The right panel of the card base was folded inside, then covered with a piece of the same light cardstock as the medallion that I had run through my Big Shot using the SU "Modern Mosaic" embossing folder. This was glued down with Tombow glue.

Finally, I added four medium size pearl embellishments to the center for the right-most embossed arabesque shapes for the "dots" of the Tic Tac Tuesday challenge.

The Sizzix die set made this card super easy! Because of that, I am rating the card difficulty as a "2" out of "5".
