This card was made for Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #355 with an optional theme of "love": http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/
The card base is made from Stampin' Up!'s retired Groovey Guava cardstock. The main panel is Kraft cardstock.
I began by stamping the cute bear from SU's "Bow Bear" retired set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink (because I was going to hand color with Copic's alcohol markers). Then, I colored the bear using the following Copic markers:
E11 - Barley Beige (bear body)
E13 - Light Suntan (bear body)
YR20 - Yellowish Shade (bear feet and paw)
YR61 - Yellowish Skin Pink (heart shadowing)
YR68 - Orange (bow)
R20 - Blush (inside ears, and heart shadowing)
RV52 - Cotton Candy (bow)
Next, I stamped the heart with sentiment onto Groovy Guava cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black, then highlighted around the perimeter with YR61 and R20. I then fussy cut the scalloped hear out with paper snips.
Using a 3-1/4" circle die, I cut out the bear. Then using adhesive foam strips attached the heart to the bear's paw to raise it up to create depth like he was handing the heart to my Grand-daughter (who the card is intended for Valentine's Day).
The Kraft front panel corners were rounded with a corner rounder punch, then glued to the card base. Then the bear with it's heart was glued to the Kraft panel off center (per the challenge sketch).
Finally, the strip of Stampin' Up! ruffled ribbon was attached to the card front using Tear & Tape.
The only difficult part of this project was fussy cutting the scalloped heart. So I will give the card a difficulty rating of "2" out of "5". It was quick and fun to do!
